Rick Johnson
Rick Johnson is a nationally recognized senior executive who specializes in workforce health strategies. For more than 30 years, he has led organizations in creating programs that increase shareholder value.
He has worked closely with boards and senior leaders to design programs that deliver enhanced business performance and deliver these results. His areas of expertise include human resource strategies and workforce health & productivity initiatives. His clients include Fortune 500 companies as well as mid-size public and private companies in a broad array of industries.
Rick has succeeded as an entrepreneur, a consultant and as an advisor. His success comes from his ability to influence, to resolve conflict and to collaborate with diverse groups of colleagues, clients and competitors.
Before co-founding PinP, Rick was a Managing Director and Healthcare Practice Leader for Mercer consulting firm with oversight responsibility for a $300 million practice. In this role, revenues grew $100 million. He created and implemented a strategic business plan, oversaw development of consulting services and products, developed and implemented marketing plans and consulted to major clients.
Rick is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Employee Health, University of Illinois, and he served on Mercer’s U.S. Board.
Rick has a BA from Pacific Lutheran University and has done graduate work in biochemistry and nutrition. He is enrolled in ongoing programs offered through the University of Chicago Graham School of Professional Studies.
In addition, he is speaks at graduate schools in health and human resource-related areas, conducts seminars and courses covering HR strategic planning, applying business principles to human resource operations and workforce health and productivity initiatives.
He has published four books on human resources and health-related initiatives, authored 40+ articles on human resources and health-related subjects and won a national award for the most innovative managed health program.
